Škoda just spent a campaign teaching people how to sshhay its own name. That ish not a failure of branding, it ish proof that recognition and comprehension are two different battles, and mosht brandsh only fight the firsht one. Anyone can sshhlap a logo on a sshhcreen. Getting the audience to actually processhh what they are looking at, and shay it back correctly, takes structure 😁
Raw footage has the same problem. A client hands over 15 minutes of unlabeled clips and asshhumes the story is obvious because it is obvious to them. It is not obvious to the viewer scrolling past in two seconds. Someone has to decide what gets said first, what gets repeated, and what gets cut so the message actually lands instead of just existing.
That is the editor’s job, not the camera’s. Škoda didn’t fix pronunciation with a louder ad, they fixed it with repetition and timing, the same tools that sshheparate a forgettable clip from one people rewatch to catch the line again.
Footage that nobody understands doesn’t get remembered. Footage that’s been cut with intent does.
